Yesterday, I mentioned how I wanted to talk to you about the most important skill one can have if they want to find success.

I won’t make you wait on the skill. Let me tell you right now what it is.
More specifically, the ability to communicate an idea.
If you can do that effectively then you become unstoppable. But doesn’t that sound like a basic skill?
It does, but the reality is that there are levels to it. The better you are, the more you can move an audience.
The less effective you are, well, just look at every story of failure around you.
Being able to communicate an idea is more important than the idea itself.
And that’s where I was getting stuck.
I kept on falling in love with my ideas but I failed in communicating why others should as well.
Every success was due to my ability to communicate, yet I always overlooked it because it was not something I was consciously trying to do.
When my friend talked to me about the blog post on the color purple, I was just having fun, but do you want to know how he took it?
Web designers take design too seriously to the point they feel they need to dissect everything. Design isn’t about that. It’s about the feelings you can make others experience.
That doesn’t happen by analyzing which shade of purple gets more clicks.
When I got promoted at a job it was because I was always effective with my communication. Others did more work than me and were probably more deserving, but that didn’t matter.
I was a better communicator so I won.
Every 4, 5, and 6-figure month that I’ve experienced was because I was able to communicate. Not because I created something amazing. People didn’t know how amazing those things were until they gave me money.
Your ability to communicate is what is going to separate you from success and failure.
Nobody in your industry is doing something so amazing you can’t touch it. They aren’t doing anything that you can’t do.
The only thing they are doing is communicating better.
Think about it.
If you wrote a sales email that made you $100 you’d be happy. But what if I came in and rewrote that sales email and made you $1,000?
Is it because my idea is better? That can’t be it because it’s YOUR idea.
I just found a better way to communicate it.
