Let’s say this right now.
I LOVE EASY.
Unfortunately, not everything is easy so when we talk about an easy business to start from home, what does “easy” actually mean?
For the purpose of this post, easy is going to mean something that anyone can do.
There might be some challenges, but that’s life.
Since you’re new here you should know that we like to start businesses and we like to help people start businesses.
It’s kind of our thing.
Are we good at it?
Well at the very least you should pretend that we are since you’re here.
But that’s enough background info.
What Is an Easy Business to Start?
If you decide to explore this site it will come as no surprise that we believe online businesses are the easiest to start and more specifically, businesses that sell information products.
Before you run away rolling your eyes let me do a quick rundown of what is needed for this type of business:
- a domain (easy)
- a website (easy if you don’t try to go overboard with lots of things)
- an offer (can be easy, you could write a simple book in Google Docs)
There you go. If you really want to go with the no money spend option then you can dive deeper into my How to Start a Business With No Money post.
But back to this easy business.
You might be thinking, “but you said ANYONE could start this business and that doesn’t seem right.”
I’m sticking to it. Anyone can start this type of business because we all have things that we can help others with.
That’s how you have to think about digital products. What knowledge and experience can you package up in an offer and provide for people to help them out?
If weeds are a problem in your yard and I told you that I’ve uncovered a foolproof method that will ensure you never have a weed again, would you be interested?
What if you had a toddler that wakes up 5x a night? What if I told you that I have a program that will show you how to finally get your toddler to sleep through the night and it only takes 48 hours to implement?
What if you feel like you suck at writing resumes? Maybe I could help with that.
The thing is we all have both life experience and knowledge and if we don’t have either (which seems impossible) then we have the opportunity to go out and get some.
Here are some businesses that our students have started:
- Freezer meal guides
- 3D designs with Cricut
- Stop drinking alcohol
- Meal plans
- Meditation guides
These aren’t crazy things. They are just things that they either have experience with or don’t mind getting experience in because they are interested.
We have people that are teaching others about canning, knitting, sewing, gardening, meal planning, and 100s of other things.
Using what is already available to you seems like the easiest path to take.
An Easy Business to Start from Home: Blogging
If you’re worried about the technical things that you need to do then if you read any how to start a blog guide you’ll find that starting a blog is simple.
Your blog can act as the basis for your business since it is the marketing arm of your business.
So please don’t think blogging is dead. It has just evolved into something greater.
But why is blogging a great business for anyone to start? Because there are a couple of things that are needed to build a successful business.
- an audience
- an offer
Blogging can help you build an audience that will want to buy your offer. Take this blog post as the perfect example. It brought you here and maybe you’ll walk away with one of our offers like Your First $10k.
But let’s make it even easier to start a business.
An Even Easier Business to Start
A business is simple.
Audience x Offer = $$$$$$
Creating the offer might seem like a huge undertaking but you can use the freely available Google Docs to create a book.
Create a book? Yep. Even if that seems overwhelming then you can use the freely available ChatGPT or whatever your favorite AI tool of choice is.
As for building an audience, if you aren’t ready for the blogging stuff then all you need to do is hop on social media and start talking to the people that you want to help.
Your business can be you creating content every single day on social media, sending people to your bio so they click the link in it, and that link points to the sales page for your offer.
Yes, you can make your first $10,000 online by simply doing this. The point is that you don’t have to believe this should be complicated. Hundreds of people are hopping online every single day to get started building their online business.
The only thing stopping you is you.
Easy Is Relative
After helping 1000s of people build online businesses I’ve learned that “easy” is always relative to what you’re willing to do.
The hardest part of starting an online business is always going to be mindset.
It’s easy to buy a domain, it’s hard to put yourself out there.
It’s easy to install WordPress, it’s hard to build up the courage to sell an offer.
However, if the hardest thing that you have to do is get over the things in your head then that puts you in a good spot.
